Lifecycle Management

Building a Maintenance Strategy for Reliable, Uninterrupted Operations

Maintenance should not be viewed simply as a cost to control. A well-planned maintenance strategy keeps equipment and systems reliable, reduces unplanned downtime, extends asset life and protects the facility’s ability to deliver the services it was designed for.

1

Shift from Reactive to Preventive Maintenance

Move from repairing equipment only after it fails to a planned preventive maintenance approach. Regular inspections and scheduled servicing help prevent unexpected breakdowns, reduce repair costs, extend asset life and maintain reliable operations.

2

Prioritise Maintenance by Operational Importance

Not every asset requires the same level of maintenance. Prioritise the equipment and systems whose failure could disrupt essential operations, compromise safety or significantly affect service delivery, and apply the most rigorous maintenance requirements to them.

3

Use Data to Improve Maintenance

Track and analyse equipment faults, downtime, maintenance history and spare-parts usage. This information helps identify recurring problems, improve maintenance planning, reduce future failures and strengthen equipment performance over time.
